늑대 옷을 입고 장난을 치다가 엄마한테 야단맞은 꼬마가 방에 갇히는데, 방이 갑자기 숲이 되고 바다가 되고 세계 전체가 되어 꼬마를 괴물 나라로 데려간다. 꼬마는 괴물 나라의 왕이 되어 의기 양양하게 귀환하고 방 안에는 따뜻한 식탁이 차려져 있다. 현실 세계에서 경험한 엄마와의 감정적인 대립을 상상의 세계에서 풀도록 유도한다.
